The Clinton Historical Society is located in the Rhoads-Harter house situated at 7866 Main Street in downtown Clinton, Ohio. Built in 1847, these photographs feature the house as it looks today. Click here to visit the Clinton Historical Society webpage of the Clinton Historical Society.
Pictured are Sarah Jane Foltz and Pierson W. Rhoads who owned the home prior to their grandson Ralph Harter. Besides maintaining the buildings and property, the organization is responsible for overseeing numerous photographs and historical artifacts acquired over the years. The CHS meets the second Thursday of each month at 7:00 p.m. in the village hall’s first floor. Come to the back of the building and enter through the back door. If the door is locked due to safety, just knock. Everyone is welcome to attend. (Please note, there is no meeting in December because of Santa Comes to Clinton event and packaging and distribution of the Holiday Cheer Basket Program. Also, there is no meeting in January.)
